Canoo (formerly Cultural Access Pass)

​The Institute for Canadian Citizenship's Canoo app allows new Canadians to explore many attractions across Canada free of charge during their first year of citizenship. Simply present your app, or Cultural Access Pass at the front desk to receive complimentary admission.

Accessibility

The entrance to the building is accessible via a ramp off Cooper street, and all public galleries are wheelchair accessible. Single strollers can be taken into the galleries and service animals are welcome.

Access2

Easter Seals Canada's Access2 card program simplifies the process of allowing persons with disabilities to bring support persons free of charge. Present your Access 2 card at the front desk to receive complimentary admission for your support persons.​​

Parking & Public Transit

Free public parking is available at multiple lots within walking distance of the museum. There is also free 2 hour street parking along Queen Street and Tannery Street.

Gallery Guidelines

Help us create a safe and accessible environment for everyone!

  • Please do not touch any artifacts other than samples designated for handling.

  • Large bags and knapsacks must be checked at the front desk.

  • Food or Drink is permitted only on the terrazzo-floored foyer and Gallery 1929, not in carpeted galleries. 

  • Photography is allowed without the use of flash or tripod. Sketching is encouraged, but we do not allow the use of pens, charcoal, or watercolours within our galleries.

  • Wheeled footwear or running are not permitted in the museum.

  • The premises is monitored by video surveillance.
